April Trail Update

As with all the dry months boring old Trail Maintenance pretty much fills up my to do list…however here’s the latest developments (the much more exciting stuff)
• 12 Gauge on Spaghetti has a big new landing
• Bundaberg Barrel Run (the advanced freeride trail off Matrix Trail) is being boosted up with more 5X goodness.  The Sky Berm is the highest structure in the park at nearly 3m.  Thanks to Pinepac Kumeu for the materials.  Structure Heaven!!
• NEW TRAIL – Hooray.
“Happy Ending” I believe will soon become everyones favourite trail.  The trail itself is done (will need bedding in of course) but we will go in over the next few weeks and add lots of 1X-2X goodness.  It is predominantly downhill and can be likened to that of a new and improved Log Flume and even sections of Ironhorse.  It starts off Matrix Trail and ends at Tree Adventures and will be a the perfect alternative to the busy Raceface Trail.
• Amyl Nitrate Trail has been…well…”Pimped”.  John, Chris and Company (a group of regular riders) have put their own time in over 8 weekends to supersize this forgotten trail in the Northern block.  They have added no less than 6 stunts (all with Crazy names) and they are all based around progression.  They are 3X-4X structures but are designed to help riders get up to that level of structure riding.  There’s Junior AV8A, The Fern Gap to name a few.  A big thanks to the guys for the effort, the trail has superb flow and the stunts are lots of fun.

• Next on my agenda once Barrel Run and Happy Ending are done is the new block.  We are waiting on the rain to settle in a bit to make the trail building easier.  I expect to have the main line of this XC block done by mid winter.
Keep your ears on!!
